Bodega

Today was our "day off". I told Jim we need to go out and have some fun and remind ourselves why we like it here so much. So we went to the Bodega Seafood, Art and Wine Festival. Bodega is a very small community about 65 miles northwest of here. About 5 miles from the coast. They had a wine and beer tasting tent. Jim tasted some beer and I tasted some wine. One was called Barefoot and I tried the White Zinfandel Champaigne. Very nice. We both had a brat for lunch as soon as we got there so didn't have any room for seafood. I wish we had looked around first. Some very interesting selections. That's a great thing about this area. The food. Fresh seafood, vegetables, fruits, cheeses, nuts. You name it.

Another little interesting thing about Bodega. Ever hear of the movie "The Birds"? Of course you have. Well, it was filmed here. We drove by the school building where much of the film took place. It's a museum now. The rest of the town consists of a church and a few shops.

We drove through Petaluma going there and back. Two other popular movies were filmed there. "American Graffitti" and "Peggy Sue Got Married". I told Jim it looks like a California version of Mayberry.
