Fisherman's Wharf

I know this is really late but I was looking through the pictures on my camera and came across these. The Saturday before Father's Day, Jim and I went over to San Francisco and visited the Wharf. We hadn't been there since last summer and were due for a visit. Lots of other people had the same idea - it was a gorgeous day with no fog. We saw something new. The long speed boat for tourists. I'd never seen one so big and could it move! We tried to watch it leave the pier and make its way into the bay, but we couldn't keep up. Looked like fun.

Of course, the sea lions were there, just hanging out. It's always fun to watch them and listen to them. The lighthouse on the other side of the sea lion area has a restaurant beneath it. Some day, I'd like to go there. The view has to be great.

Alcatraz Island was in full view. We've been there a few times, but they've opened a couple of areas that were closed before. They restored them to make them safe. Also, they've restored the many flower gardens that covered the Rock when the guards and their families lived there. That's another trip. Anyone else interested?
